Cookie & Data Policy

Published: 19 May 2026Last updated: 19 May 2026

1. What are cookies?

In plain terms: Cookies are small files websites store on your device to remember things between visits.

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies, such as local storage, session storage and pixels, work in similar ways. In this policy we use "cookies" to refer to all of them.

2. Categories of cookies we use

In plain terms: Strictly necessary, functional, analytics and marketing: you control all but the strictly necessary ones.

2.1 Strictly necessary

Required for the platform to function: authentication, session management, CSRF protection, load balancing and security. These cannot be disabled.

2.2 Functional

Remember preferences such as language, theme, active brand kit and dismissed onboarding tips.

2.3 Analytics

Anonymous and aggregated usage data to help us understand which features matter and where users get stuck.

2.4 Marketing

Used only if you opt-in. Helps measure the performance of our advertising campaigns and prevent you from seeing the same ad repeatedly.

4. Third-party services that set cookies

In plain terms: Google Sign-In, Stripe, Google Analytics and Meta Pixel (when you opt-in).
  • Google Sign-In: authentication.
  • Stripe: payments and fraud prevention.
  • Google Analytics 4: anonymous usage analytics.
  • Meta Pixel: ad performance (only after you opt-in to Marketing cookies).
  • AI provider iframes: when present, may set their own session cookies under their privacy policies.

5. How to manage cookies

In plain terms: Use our consent banner to change preferences, or block cookies in your browser.

5.1 Mofano consent banner

On first visit, Mofano shows a cookie banner with three options: Accept all, Reject non-essential and Customize. Customize opens a modal with granular toggles for Functional, Analytics and Marketing cookies. You can change your choice at any time from the Cookie Settings link in the footer.

5.2 Browser controls

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data.
  • Safari: Settings → Privacy.
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies will break sign-in, billing and most studio features.

5.3 Do Not Track

We respect the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal: if your browser sends GPC, we treat it as an opt-out of Analytics and Marketing cookies. Standard "Do Not Track" headers have no agreed standard, so we do not act on them automatically. Please use the consent banner.

6. Data inferred from cookies

In plain terms: We can see roughly how the app is used. We don't build advertising profiles about you.

From cookies and similar technologies we can learn: which features you use, how long sessions last, where users drop off, your approximate region (from IP), the device and browser you use, and whether a campaign brought you to mofano.ai.

We do not use this data to build behavioural advertising profiles, and we never sell it.

7. Updates to this policy

In plain terms: We'll update this page when our cookie usage changes.

If we add or remove cookies in a material way, we will update this page and bump the "Last updated" date. For significant changes we will re-prompt the consent banner.
